WE OFFER

TREATMENT SERVICES

Sameem Behavioral Health offers outpatient treatments for substance abuse and other behavioral health conditions. Our 3 Levels of Care allow individuals to receive various intensities of outpatient treatment while still maintaining their daily responsibilities, such as work or school. The 3 Levels of Care model provides from 1 to 15 hours of weekly outpatient treatment, depending upon patient need. Outpatient treatments are good options for people who are successfully managing their addictions with a sober lifestyle, a successful "harm reduction" approach, or who have completed inpatient treatment and need an Intensive Outpatient Program.

Each of our 3 Levels of Care comprises some combination of the following outpatient substance abuse treatment modalities:

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy for substance abuse (also often called psychotherapy or talk therapy, as opposed to medical interventions like detox) involves one-on-one sessions with a therapist to work through the underlying issues that contribute to substance abuse, and to develop coping skills and strategies to maintain sobriety.

Group Therapy

Group therapy for substance abuse and secondary conditions like depression, anxiety, or stress involves therapy sessions with a group of people who are all working on their recovery. Group therapy can provide support, feedback, and a sense of community.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is often used in both group and individual therapy settings. CBT focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to substance abuse. CBT can help individuals develop new coping skills and strategies to manage cravings and triggers.

Family & Couples Therapy

In this type of therapy, a two or more members of the family are treated at the same time by the same therapist. The two may be a couple or a parent/child pair. In rare cases, other combinations of relationships form the couple. When the groups are larger, then common combinations might be both parents and a child, or even two parents with multiple children, who are typically still living at home and who are all affected by the outcomes of the the patient's addictive behavior.  The therapist's aim is to address the mental health conditions and how they might be impacting the family relationship.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-assisted treatment or MAT involves the use of medications such as buprenorphine to manage withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. MAT is commonly used to treat opioid addiction. It can be an important component in early recovery as patients learn to live substance-free. It is not typically recommended for long-term use. Each patient is carefully evaluated by a clinician for the best approach for that case.

Drug Testing or Alcohol Testing

Drug-and-alcohol-testing programs provide objective, reliable, and valid results. Random drug testing is a key component of the treatment process aiding the clinician with an objective measure of progress or lack thereof. Drug tests help clinicians address the realities of a clients substance use and break through the barrier of denial. Accurate testing is the most objective and efficient way to establish a framework for accountability and to gauge each clients progress. Modern technology offers highly reliable testing to determine if an individual has recently used specific drugs. The analyzer typically tests for cocaine, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, amphetamines, methamphetamines, alcohol, oxycodone, and marijuana.

Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Sameem's Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides specialized, compassionate care for young people aged 13-17 grappling with Substance Use Disorders and related mental health challenges. Our program is designed to fit into the busy schedules of school and family life, ensuring that our young clients receive the support they need without disrupting their daily routines. Utilizing a blend of individual therapy, group sessions, and family involvement, we tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each adolescent, fostering resilience and promoting long-term recovery.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Intensive outpatient programs are designed for individuals who require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient services can offer, but do not require the 24-hour supervision of a residential program. Patients often enter these programs straight our of residential treatment or in an attempt to avoid the interruption of residential treatment.

IOP Programs can comprise all of the services listed above, but at Sameem, each person's IOP schedule is unique, so some people will use only a subset of these services.

To determine which are the right services for a patient's needs, Sameem begins with an assessment to determine the best outpatient services to maintain a healthy and happy living environment.
